So, when my friend, who just so happens to be my local beer guy, mentioned a Watermelon Ale he had in stock I wasn't incredibly interested, honestly.
It didn't really sound like something I'd enjoy, but I was willing to give it a shot, especially since the beer was from a Brazilian brewery and my wife is from Brazil.
For the record, Brazil is obviously a large country and she's never heard of Way Beer, who brewed this beer in collaboration with Jester King.
There's certainly watermelon flavor, thankfully not too sweet. It's brewed with not only watermelon, but hibiscus as well.
Coming in at 4.7% ABV, I could certainly see this being a refreshing beach beer on a hot day. Cool can art, solid fruitiness and easy drinking.
