It's out with the old and in with the new at Destin Brewery. Well, figuratively of course
Located along Mountain Drive in Destin, Florida, this brewery is known for it's lineup of brews that draw inspiration from the local area's natural beauty.
Owner Kelly Taylor and his business partners opened the brewery in 2015 and have been turning out some solid brews, like the Destin Ale (a light, easy drinking ale), the Emerald Koast Kolsch (a rice-style lager made with Kolsch Ale yeast), the Red Sky Rye Pale Ale (an unfiltered pale ale brewed with rye), and the East Pass IPA (an India Pale Ale brewed with local honey).
All of their brews were produced on a four-barrel system with a 125 gallon capacity. Now, they are expanding their brewing ability with the addition of a 20-barrel system that will give them a 620-gallon capacity.
Talk about a dramatic upgrade. To be more specific, it's an increase in output by nearly 500 percent.
The plan is to use the new system to mostly produce their core lineup of brews for distribution while the old system will be used for small batch brews and research and development.
Destin Brewery is located at 505 Mountain Drive. To learn more about the brewery, visit their website or follow them on Facebook and Instagram.
