Sandestin Beer Pairing Dinner Delivers Awesome Eats and Amazing Brews

It may have been Friday the 13th, but there was nothing to be afraid of as Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort's executive chef and a local cicerone paired the perfect meal for a group of lucky diners during a beer pairing dinner at the Burnt Pine Golf Club.

 

Chef Javier Rosa and Frank Gordon, of Beer Wise — a consulting company, were tasked with creating the perfect five-course dinner where the menu and beers perfectly complimented each other.

 

Check out the menu and beer pairings:

 

First Course:

Roasted Butternut Squash Soup served with a Curried Crab Fritter and Cardamom Cream.  Paired with: Mosaic Promise — American Pale Ale (Founder's Brewing Company)

 

Second Course:

Pan Seared Sea Scallops served atop Roasted Bone Marrow with a Romesco Sauce. Paired with: Orval — Trappist Ale (Brasserie d'Orval)

 

Third Course:

Sour Cheery BBQ Mop Berkshire Pork Tenderloin, served with Hominy Rissotto and Toasted Pistachio. Paired with: The Barista — American Brown Ale (Clown Shoes)

 

Fourth Course:

Crispy Lamb Belly served with Fire Roasted Poblano Stone Ground Grits and Roasted Fennel. Paired with: BOMB! — American Double Imperial Stout (Prairie Artisan Ales)

 

Fifth Course:

Galette Trio — Fig, Apple, and Pear served with a Bourbon Caramel Sauce. Paired with: ABT 12 — Quadrupel (Brouwerij St. Bermardus)

If you were lucky enough to attend, you know how amazing the meal and beers were. If you missed out, definitely keep your eyes open as there are plans to offer more beer pairing dinners in the future. ABC Fine Wine & Spirits in Destin supplied the beers for the event.
